Let David Bach show you a whole new way to prosper—by going green Internationally renowned financial expert and bestselling author David Bach has always urged readers to put their financial lives in line with their values. But what if your values are a cleaner and greener earth? Most people think that “going green” is an expensive choice they can’t afford. Bach is here to say that you can have both: a life in line with your green values and a million dollars in the bank.
Go Green, Live Rich outlines fifty ways to make your life, your home, your shopping, and your finances greener—and get rich trying. From driving the right car to making your home energy smart, Bach offers ways to improve the environment while you spend less, save more, earn more, and pay fewer taxes. Best of all, he shows you exactly how to take advantage of the "green wave" in personal finance without the difficult work of evaluating individual stocks. What's more, he will get you thinking about a green business of your own so you can help the world along as it is changing for the better.
David Bach is on a mission to teach the world that you can live a great life by living a green life. With Go Green, Live Rich, you can live in line with your eco-values on the road to financial freedom. |

I'm fairly new to the "green scene" and I've got to say that I really love this book. The fifty tips offered are broken out into 11 different sections: Knowing Your Impact, Driving, Energy, Water, Real Estate, Shopping, Recycling, Family Values, Work, Investing and Giving back to green charities.
The author's tips are really useful and he backs it all up with solid stats (some very surprising ones too that really drive his points home...)
It's an easy read with each chapter summed up into specific actionable steps you can take...which for me is extremely helpful.
But the BEST part about Bach's book is that he shows you how to SAVE and actually EARN money by going green. I found this to be a unique perspective since the common misconception is that going green is expensive.
I highly recommend Go Green, Live Rich! |

Having read several of David's other New York Times Best Sellers on finances, saving money and living wisely I expected this book, Go Green, Live Rich to be interesting. Go Green is spectacular- a wealth of information, how to make small changes that will impact the planet and still be easy to do and improve my life. And the added bonus of
Web sites that provide additional information and green products make it easy for me to follow through on the information . The chapters are a quick read with short Go Green Action Steps within as a side bar. I keep putting the book down to think about what David has written. Although I work with charities every year and try to make a difference.- Go Green has opened my eyes- each day we can make changes that are beneficial for our personal health and help the environment. I only wish this was a 10 star system - his book is brilliant!

David Bach is a best-selling author of books about how to get rich, who also happens to be passionate about saving the environment. His co-author, Hillary Rosner, is a respected journalist, who writes about environmental issues for several publications, including the "New York Times," "Seed" and "Audubon."
Their book, "Go Green, Live Rich," demonstrates Bach's belief that the best strategy today for gaining wealth is to go green. After all, securing wealth and securing the planet are both about securing the future, for ourselves and our families.
The sensible wealth strategy put forth in this book is based on the belief that "small daily savings can add up to a richer future." Very solid, tried-and-true financial advice that also happens to be green. Every time you turn off the lights, for example, you both save money and reduce global warming.
There's nothing really new environmentally in this book, but that's okay. The fifty green tips are the same ideas you've probably already read about in other books. What sets this book apart, and makes it a really important read, is that it analyzes the financial savings you'll experience by taking green actions in your life. Bach has calculated that if you implement only four of these tips, and invest those daily savings, you could earn nearly $700,000 in 30 years. That's worth doing even if you don't care about the environment at all!
This book not only dispels the myth that it costs more to go green; it actually shows you how to come out ahead by living green. And it has the numbers to prove it.
"Go Green, Live Rich" gives a great start for going green, but it's just a start. It points the reader in fifty great directions, but you'll need a lot more information to really implement these tips in your life. My recommendation: Use this book as a starting point, and an inspiration for turning green choices into green cash -- and then keep looking for additional green guidance.

| To the person who gave the book 1 star and asked if it's printed on recycled paper.... YES it is, and the paper is called KnightKote Matte produced by SMART Papers. Kind of weird you gave the book 1 star and you obviously haven't even looked at it or else you'd know it's printed on recycled paper! |
